Global Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) Market CAGR 5.1% by 2032 | Modernization of Existing Infrastructure in Large Economies to Rapidly Expand Market Scope
Published On : 22 Aug 2025
The global ready-mix concrete (RMC) market size is likely to be valued at US$ 566.3 billion in 2025, reaching US$ 802.2 billion by 2032 and exhibiting a CAGR of 5.1% during the forecast period 2025-2032. Market growth is driven by innovations in self-consolidating concrete and customized concrete mixes, enabling reduction in labor costs and minimization of material waste while enhancing structural performance.
Recent Market Trends
- Governments worldwide are amplifying investments in infrastructure maintenance and repair, fueling the demand for RMC for applications such as repairing roads, bridges, and urban buildings.
- The rise of automation and advanced technology in the production of ready-mix concrete and delivery systems is streamlining construction timelines and improving quality control.
- Large-scale affordable housing projects in Sub-Saharan Africa are increasingly mandating high-strength ready-mix grades, signaling a pivot away from traditional onsite mixing.
- Hurricane-resilient structures in the U.S. Gulf Coast and cyclone-resistant housing in coastal India are fueling the demand for specialty fiber-reinforced ready-mix concrete.
Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) Market in the News
June 2025: Holcim México invested MXN56 million (approximately US$ 3 million) to significantly expand the production and distribution capacity of ECOPact, its low-carbon concrete product. This investment will include the installation of 27 new silos with a total storage capacity of 2,600 tons of sustainable cement across all of Holcim’s ready-mix plants nationwide in Mexico. ECOPact is designed to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 30% compared to conventional concrete and has already been used in major infrastructure and building projects such as the Presa Libertad dam and Torre Moranta.
April 2025: Queens Carbon, a developer of next-generation cement technology, secured US$ 10 million in seed funding led by Clean Energy Ventures, along with participation from Plug and Play, Clean Energy Venture Group, and strategic investor Buzzi Unicem USA. The funding will be used to scale Queens Carbon’s energy-efficient platform for producing carbon-neutral cement and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), expand its team and operations, build a 2,000-ton-per-year demonstration pilot facility, and prepare for a full-scale commercial plant. Queens Carbon’s innovative technology uses novel hydrothermal chemistry to produce cementitious materials at half the temperature of conventional cement manufacturing, significantly reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
Segment Analysis
By product type, the transit mixed concrete segment is projected to lead the market with an approximate 43.6% share in 2025. Its dominance is attributable to the cost-efficiency, ease of production during transport, and minimal need for additional admixtures offered by this concrete type. Shrink mixed concrete is also gaining traction due to its hybrid advantages, promising improved truckload capacity and operational flexibility by combining features of both central and transit mixing methods. In terms of application, the residential construction segment is expected to capture around 38.2% of the market by 2025, driven by the rising demand for ready-mix concrete in affordable housing projects, particularly for structural components such as walls, floors, columns, and foundations. Government-backed housing initiatives in emerging economies are further accelerating the growth of this segment. The commercial construction sector is also expanding steadily, boosted by an increasing demand for retail and office spaces in urban centers in most of the major global economies.
Regional Analysis
North America is expected to hold around 24.6% of the ready-mix concrete market share in 2025. The U.S. leads the regional market, owing to the execution of large-scale infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, and construction of commercial buildings in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto. RMC is favored over site-mixed alternatives for its cost-efficiency, time savings, and superior quality control. The adoption of digital tracking and automated batching systems by stakeholders in this region is further enhancing operational efficiency and reducing material waste, aligning with sustainability goals and tight construction timelines. In Europe, the market is being shaped by infrastructure investments and environmental initiatives such as the European Green Deal of the European Union (EU), which are accelerating the demand for low-carbon and high-performance ready-mix concrete. Construction projects in France and Germany are incorporating supplementary cementitious materials such as fly ash, slag, and natural pozzolans to reduce emissions. Meanwhile, Asia Pacific is expected to lead long-term growth through 2032, fueled by urbanization and government-backed infrastructure modernization initiatives in India and China. Programs such as India’s Housing for All and China’s New Infrastructure Plan are augmenting the demand for affordable, sustainable construction materials.
Industry Players
Defining the competitive landscape of the global ready-mix concrete market is the blend of large and medium-sized players pursuing strategic partnerships, sustainability-driven innovation, and market-specific collaborations. Global leaders such as CEMEX S.A.B. de C.V., Heidelberg Materials AG, Holcim Ltd., Buzzi Unicem SpA, UltraTech Cement Ltd., CNBM, and Vicat Group are expanding their footprint through alliances that can accelerate their entry into emerging markets while co-developing advanced admixture formulations and carbon-neutral product lines. Regional specialists such as SRM Concrete and Unibeton Ready Mix are differentiating through smart batching technologies and project-specific solutions. With governments tightening regulations on embodied carbon, these players are actively transitioning toward eco-friendly ready-mix concrete that complies with green building standards, future-proofing their market position.
